Freedom of Information Act
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 requires all Public Authorities to adopt and maintain a Publication Scheme setting out classes of information that it holds and will routinely make available either with or without charge. This is the Parish Council’s scheme made under the Act. The Publication Scheme lets you know what information Chapel-en-le-Frith Parish Council holds, and will make available to you. The Act requires that we set out the classes of information that are available and this is split into thirteen main categories, these are: -
The Freedom of Information Act does not allow for the release of information held that is personal and private to individuals. This information will still be controlled by the Data Protection Act 1998 A charge will be made for copies of information contained within the scheme however; there is no charge for inspecting information. All requests for copies of documents should be made in writing to the Clerk of the Council, Should you wish to inspect documents a mutually convenient time should be agreed with the Clerk of the Council. The charge for copies of A4 documents will be £2.20 for the first page and 25p for each page thereafter. In certain circumstances there will be an additional administration charge of £20 per hour should a large amount of information be requested.
