Cllr. Guy Martin, Chairman of Chapel-en-le-Frith Parish Council, attended a recent parade of the Chapel Army Cadet Force and presented Lt. Andy Smith with a shield, to be awarded on a regular basis to a Cadet who has demonstrated the qualities required to inspire and achieve within the ACF.

Cllr. Martin, who met the Cadets some time ago, said "I was very impressed then with the enthusiasm and interest taken by the Cadets and their discipline and felt that a tangible recognition was needed. These young people, both boys and girls, give up their time to learn new skills and they deserve our support"   “ On my last visit the Cadets were working towards their Heartstart first aid and this time they were learning map reading in preparation for a weekend away.”

Cllr Guy Martin can be seen here with the Adult instructors Rob Wright and
Andy Smith and the youngest members of the Detachment,
Cadets Procter, Wheelan, and Kitson

The Cadets meet on Wed & Thur evenings, 7.00 to 9.00pm at the High St. Youth Centre, and potential members aged 12 ½ and are in year 8 are always welcome
to drop in and see the activities.
