29th                     Happy Harmonics Music Group,  6.30pm – 8pm at Chapel Youth Centre, 25 High Street, Chapel en le Frith.  Music workshops aimed at young people with additional needs.  50p  This month we will be planning our entry to Chapel Carnival, organizing costumes and planning the float

29th                     Chinley Youth Club, Lower Lane, Chinley.  7pm – 9.15pm a village based youth club offering a range of activities to young people in Senior school years 7 to 11. 50p  This month planning for summer event for young people from Chernobyl.                              Making Music Club at Chapel Youth Centre, 25 High Street, Chapel en le Frith. 3pm – 6pm An afternoon project based session for young people interested in writing and recording music This terms work will be preparing for the Buxton Fringe Festival in July 09 50p. This month we will be concentrating on writing for the fringe and  publicity material ready for the launch of Our World Tour at Chapel Carnival.                              Whaley Youth Club meets at Footsteps, 14 Market Street Whaley Bridge.  A project based club for young people in school years 8, 9 and 10. Cllr. Guy Martin, Chairman of Chapel-en-le-Frith Parish Council, attended a recent parade of the Chapel Army Cadet Force and presented Lt. Andy Smith with a shield, to be awarded on a regular basis to a Cadet who has demonstrated the qualities required to inspire and achieve within the ACF.

Cllr. Martin, who met the Cadets some time ago, said "I was very impressed then with the enthusiasm and interest taken by the Cadets and their discipline and felt that a tangible recognition was needed. These young people, both boys and girls, give up their time to learn new skills and they deserve our support"   “ On my last visit the Cadets were working towards their Heartstart first aid and this time they were learning map reading in preparation for a weekend away.”

  The Cadets meet on Wed & Thur evenings, 7.00 to 9.00pm at the High St. Youth Centre, and potential members aged 12 ½ and are in year 8 are always welcome
to drop in and see the activities.

CHAPEL PARK BOWLING CLUB

Memorial Park, Rowton Grange Road. Members of any age are welcome although 7 is   probably the lowest age to handle bowls. The Club would be pleased to train anyone           interested, arrange practice & this could lead to playing in local leagues.
